I already have started my list for the invitees hoping I make it to 50, and you are on it! This is a great example of how many people we all know.

Hey Alan,

It's me the 50 year old. I've never been written about in a blog before. That may be a good thing! However, I want to start by thanking you for everything you did to help with such a great party.

After reading your two blogs it really got me thinking about how we got to know each other. I realized how appropriate is the name of your website. FollowUp Success! You had to follow up with me several times just to get me to look at Send Out Cards. My very good friend who first showed it to me never bothered to follow up. And now I’m really glad that they didn’t . . and you did! I feel very fortunate because I was introduced to something that would change the direction of my career and I’ve gained a really great friend for the rest of my life. My daughter thinks of you as her older brother, you are like family to us. Think about that! If you hadn’t made that followup call, none of this may have ever happened.

This party, this milestone in my life is a reminder that responding to all the email in the inbox is not as important as making someone close to me know how special they are. Taking the time to really connect with someone may bring a friendship for life. Sharing in each other’s joys and tragedies, cheering each other on or being a shoulder of support. Ultimately, it is our relationships with others that we value most.

Thanks Alan!
Your Friend
